In eighteen years of insurance sales, I learned one thing: the most important moments in our industry begin with a phone call. Not with an app. Not with a portal. With a conversation between two people.
That hasn't changed — and it won't change anytime soon. Insurance still runs on the phone.
The math no longer works
What has changed is the math behind it. Customers are getting older, and their need for advice is growing. At the same time, experienced advisors are retiring, and too few are coming up behind them. Required contact is rising — capacity isn't.
A single advisor cannot call hundreds of clients on a regular basis. So what I saw again and again throughout my career happens: portfolios erode quietly. Policies go stale, coverage gaps stay undetected, clients feel forgotten.
And the bitter truth on the other side: the people who needed advice the most never got that call.
What we believe
We believe no one should go unprotected because no one reached out.
That is the sentence Insaio grew out of. Not a feature, not a business model — a conviction. And for the first time, the technology exists to actually solve this problem.
Humans advise. Insaio does the rest.
Insaio is the customer interaction OS for insurance and finance. Our AI agents make the calls that would otherwise never happen: they reach clients, book appointments straight into the advisor's calendar, and prep the advisor for every meeting.
The advice itself — the moment where trust is built and decisions are made — stays where it belongs: with a human.
We start where the pain is greatest: with independent intermediaries in Germany. From there, we grow into all of regulated financial advisory — because advice works the same way everywhere.
Trust is not an afterthought
The most important lesson from our first customer projects: people accept calls from AI agents — when they are transparent and genuinely useful. No hiding, no pretending. Our appointment booking rates of 15 to 25 percent show that exactly this honesty works.
That's why we build Insaio the way this industry deserves from day one: GDPR-compliant, ready for the EU AI Act and the IDD. In insurance, trust is not a marketing phrase — it is the foundation of the business.
Why us
Today, Michael and I founded Insaio. Michael has been a software entrepreneur for over fifteen years. I spent eighteen years in insurance advisory and distributed sales — I have lived the problem we are solving.
We build Insaio for the people who make sure, every single day, that others are protected. So that no client falls through the cracks. So that advice happens again.
Humans advise. Insaio does the rest.
